MagnaFlux
Magnafluxing is the process which exposes microscopic cracks in the crankshaft surfaces.
For cast iron engine components, MagnaFlux will highlight any cracks that may otherwise not be seen.

Cylinder Head Pressure Check
Pressure testing is the best method of testing for cracks because cracks in areas that are not visible can still be found.
Bore and Hone Engine Block
Our automotive machine shops uses special equipment to bore the block over-sized and hone the surface of the cylinder wall.
Cylinder Head Surfacing
Compared to most automotive machine shops, Tri-State does not use belt sanders to surface the cylinder head. But instead, we use a CBN surfacer that is necessary to meet the tight tolerances required by today's engines.
Crankshaft Grinding
When a crankshaft is turned to an undersize, it can and does change the stroke and degrees apart of each rod journal. To index a crank, first the machinist has to know where the stroke and degrees (swing) are. Once this is established, with the right machine to start with, the crankshaft can be indexed for both swing and stroke. Crankshafts that are ground to within +or- .0001 (that's one ten thousands of an inch) on rods and mains gives you a crankshaft that will give you full bearing contact with a lot longer life. If you want more strength and longevity from your engine this is a must.
Crank Kits
Crank Kit includes a new or re-ground crankshaft, rod and main bearings with thrust washers.

Short Blocks
All of the engine block sub-assemblies consisting of all of the related internal components are rebuilt and installed. The short block engine is normally just the rebuilt block containing pistons with rings and a crankshaft kit with bearings a new cam shaft.
Long Blocks
Consists of cylinder block fitted with pistons, rings, connecting rods, crankshaft and all bearings, cylinder heads, camshaft, timing chain, belt and/or sprockets.
